After having a very blah week this week, woke up early this morning feeling:
1) Irritated that I woke up early again, after not sleeping well, for the 4th day in a row
2) Down in the dumps
3) No energy to get up and start yet another day of the same old routine
After not being able to go back to sleep, decided what the heck, might as well get up and read my bible for awhile.
As always, God knew exactly what I needed. Somehow, the scriptures I kept finding were about the strength I have in Him. (funny how that works). Here’s what He reminded me of this morning through His holy scriptures:
Proverbs 10:25
“When the whirlwind passes, the wicked are no more, but the righteous have an everlasting foundation.”
Psalm 125:1
“Those who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever.”
Matthew 7:24
“So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them (obeying them) will be like a sensible man who built his house upon the rock. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall because it had been founded on the rock.”
Proverbs 10:29
“The way of the Lord is strength and a stronghold to the upright, but it is destruction to the workers of iniquity.”
Proverbs 10:30
“The righteous shall never be removed, bu the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.”
Isaiah 40:29
“He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
“But He said to me, My grace is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]: for My strength and power are made perfect and show themselves most effective in your weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ may rest upon me!”
Luke 10:19
“Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over the power that the enemy possesses and nothing shall in any way harm you.”
Acts 1:8
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”
2 Timothy 1:9
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.”
Isaiah 40:31
“But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.”
‘Nuff said!
Thank you, Lord
