Occupational Prayer Hazards: Staying Rooted in Prayer as a Minister

We’ve all heard it a million times – every conference, training, and Diocesan gathering. We say it to other youth minters, our Core Teams, and our teens. We know it in our heads, but often we fail to practice it in our hearts. “Prayer needs to be the center of our life as Catholic Christians and especially as Youth Ministers.” The trouble is, I am a sinner, and I fail at this a lot of the time. Tips on Grading Your Parish Program

Sometimes I wish I was graded for my job as youth minister. I don’t say that because I think I am really good at this ministry, but because I long for some clear cut, black and white indication of how well or poorly the ministry God has entrusted to me is going. Helping Teenagers Find God in Ordinary Time

The mission statement of Life Teen is to “Lead Teens Closer to Christ.” As a youth minister, I really enjoy Advent and Christmas because more than any other time of the year this mission seems clear and maybe even easier to accomplish.
