Goal for the Life Night:
The goal for this night is to help the teens understand the difference between charity and justice, as well as the necessity for both in the Christian life. This night will also help teens experience the power of God’s mercy so that they can have mercy on others.
Life Night at a Glance:
All too often we are willing to do works of charity but not work for justice, or if we are standing up against injustice, we forget to serve Christ in our brothers and sisters. The truth is that we cannot have charity without justice nor justice without charity. These are the “two feet” of social justice. This night will explore the importance of living both charity and justice. The Life Night starts with a humorous look at how difficult life would be with only one foot. This will lead into the teaching on the “two feet” of social justice. The Break for this night will be a small group discussion, giving teens the time to look at how they can live both charity and justice. Finally, the Send for the night will introduce the teens to the Divine Mercy Chaplet and then give them the opportunity to pray it together.
