Goal of this Life Night
The goal of this Life Night is to help the teens understand that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully human. The teens will also be able to recognize Jesus’ humanity in Scripture and relate those experiences to their own lives.
About this night
The hypostatic union is a doctrine that will most likely be hard for the teens and even some Core Members to understand. Before beginning to plan this night, take a week or two to dive into what the Church says about the person of Christ. It is important, especially on this topic, to understand the hypostatic union before presenting it to teens.
This Life Night begins with a quick, funny video about the definition of the word “hypostatic.” The teaching for this night will focus on the importance of Jesus as both fully God and fully man. In the Break, the teens will take a closer look at Jesus’ humanity with examples from Scripture and have an opportunity to reflect on how it relates to their own lives. The night will end with Eucharistic Adoration thanking God for becoming man.
