Out of the Box: Making the Most of Life Support

Somehow there is only three months left of 2010!  How did that happen?  School is in full swing, summer is a distant memory and Christmas will be here before you know it.  Think back… what were your ministry goals at the beginning of 2010?  How about your personal spirituality; what commitments to prayer did you make on January 1, 2010?  During the “homestretch” of the year, it is not too late!  Take time to reevaluate your ministry and personal relationship with God. Give It Away Now: Thirst for Change Update

I have been deeply moved as email after email has arrived over the last week. Give It Away Now: Thirst for Change has grown beyond our expectations, beyond our hopes and dreams. God is moving and together we are awed at what he has done! As I write this, the Life Teen family has raised over $63,000. Our goal was $50,000, enough to build 4 wells at $12,500 a piece. We thought 4 wells was ambitious. We are now at 5 wells with no signs of slowing down!

The Thinking Behind the New LifeTeen.com

Earlier this summer at the Life Teen Training Convention we launched the new LifeTeen.com in front of a crowd of 620 people. If you weren’t able to make it to the event, let me share with you what the new LifeTeen.com is all about. We started the redesign of LifeTeen.com earlier this spring by surveying a combined 600 teens and adults who are regular visitors of the website. We asked for honest answers to tough questions about how much they liked the old website. What’s good? What’s bad? What are we totally missing?

June 2010: The Best Month Ever!

June 2010 has been one of the most exciting months I can remember for Life Teen. It started with our Life Teen Convention with 500 participants and 70 priests in attendance and then crescendoed in our Mesa office when we welcomed 47 new Life Teen parishes in one month. Every day Pam Zimmerman would place a new stack of parishes on my desk and I would ring my bell with the biggest smile on my face. Soon, Kevin Hickey would run into the office to ring the bell for the 33 new Edge parishes and the enthusiasm just got bigger and bigger.

Extreme Makover: John 23rd Cabin at Camp Covecrest

I just got an email from my dad showing all of their work over at Camp Covecrest in Tiger, Georgia. They’ve spent several months rethinking the old John 23rd Villa to make it more comfortable without losing its historic charm. Take a look at the new photos!

Robots, Monkeys and the Love of Christ!

Earlier this month, I was blessed to have traveled to the beautiful South African cities of Durban and Cape Town to pray with and train parishes interested in implementing Life Teen, as well those that have been a part of the Life Teen family for several years. What an amazing experience!

Photos from Life Teen International Conference in the Netherlands

I just wanted to thank you for all the great ministry you are doing for teens. I am in the Netherlands with the German missionaries, Marlo Dowdy, Greg Boudreaux and Eric Porteous. Yesterday was officially the first day of Spring! All weekend long we talked about Pope John Paul II’s call for a new Evangelization out of this new springtime in the Church. We are feeling this in a powerful way today.

Photos from Our Life Teen Missionaries in Haiti

Some of you may’ve read in a recent blog that Life Teen Missionary Eric Martin and Life Teen Board Member Stephen Smith traveled to Haiti to help with relief effort following the earthquake. I spent time with both Eric and Stephen (my dad) this past weekend at the Life Teen staff retreat at Covecrest. It was very moving to hear stories from their journey to Haiti. I wanted to share some photos from their trip.
