Goal for the Life Night:
The goal for this night is to introduce the semester on the Church. It will help teens understand why Christ established the Church and how the Holy Spirit has sustained and guided the Church throughout her history. The night will also help teens recognize the movements of the Holy Spirit in the Church and in the world.
Life Night at a Glance:
This night introduces the semester on the Church and how the Holy Spirit is at work within the Church today. This night will help give teens not only the big picture of how the Spirit has moved in the Church, but also how the Spirit is still moving today in the Church as well as in their lives. This night begins with a contest between teens from each class. The teens have to try and guess what the big picture is from a zoomed-in portion of the picture. The game leads into the teaching of the night that will set up the rest of the semester by looking at the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church. The Break will start with a time for the teens to reflect on where the Holy Spirit has moved in their lives (i.e. their sacraments, relationships, retreats, etc.) Small groups will give the teens an opportunity to share where the presence of the Holy Spirit has moved in their lives both now and in the past. The night will end with a teen witness and prayers of thanksgiving for the gift of the Church and the Holy Spirit.
