Coordinator Young Adult & Hispanic Youth Ministry at Archdiocese of Baltimore in Baltimore, MD

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, energetic and outgoing professional to fill the role of Coordinator for Young Adult Ministry and Hispanic Youth Ministry. This role falls under the Division of Youth & Young Adult Ministry and the Department of Evangelization.

The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and carrying out the archdiocesan vision for young adult ministry. He or she develops and implements programs and services that support outreach to young adults (including Spanish-speaking parish-based young adult communities). The Coordinator participates in programs and activities of the Division of Youth and Young Adult Ministry and performs those duties as requested by the Division Director.

Essential Functions:

•Advocates and plans for archdiocesan young adult programs that are culturally sensitive and represents the language and spirituality of the different young adult communities of the archdiocese

•Works with the English and Spanish-speaking Archdiocesan Young Adult Councils, engaging them in new or current projects and plans for outreach to all young adults in the Archdiocese

•Provides consultation, resourcing, and training for parish staff on young adult ministry, including ministry to and for the Spanish-speaking community

•Provides training for young adults on Catholic Social Teaching and engages the young adult community to advocate for a particular global and local issues

•Serves as a resource on youth and young adult ministry for the Hispanic pastoral agents (Agentes de Pastoral Hispana) or ministers assigned to Spanish-speaking communities

•Creates and maintains a consistent schedule for a Young Adult newsletter and other means of communication and social networking

Additional Responsibilities:

•Develops leadership skills among English and Spanish-speaking young adults

•Promotes participation of Hispanic young people in Archdiocesan Young Adult and Youth Ministry events

•Assists parish youth and young adult ministers in connecting to service agencies and initiatives

•Participates fully as a team member in all activities of the Department of Evangelization and the Division of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, including regularly scheduled staff meetings

•Takes part in developing goals and objectives, the annual calendar of events, newsletter, the annual report and other communication of the Division

Minimum Education and Experience:

•Masters Degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, Religious Education, Youth Ministry or Hispanic Ministry preferred. Applicants already enrolled in Master's Program will be considered.

•Fluent in language skills in both oral and written English and Spanish

•Minimum of 5 years in parish or diocesan ministry

•Competent as a trainer and in facilitating meetings and group process

•Interpersonal relationship skills to foster and maintain relationships with different ecclesiological and cultural young adult communities
