Core Training: Conflict Resolution

Keywords: |

The final resource in our 8-part series covers conflict resolution on your core team. Anytime a group of people is gathered together there is a potential for dispute and conflict, even if that group of people is gathered to serve the church. this resource will present a christ-centered, loving approach to resolving and reconciling conflict, and strategies to prevent it from happening.

After discussing causes and effects of core conflict, along with common reactions to it, we present a list of the top ten solutions to core team conflicts that a youth minister is likely to face.We address ten conflicts that can commonly occur on core teams, and present practical, relational, and concrete ways to resolve them. When working for the church, we engage in a battle. sometimes core conflict is a manifestation of a great spiritual battle; we close by addressing this “hidden battle” and what to do when you need to ask a core member to leave the team.
A core training outline has been provided to help the core team be open
about any existing conflicts, learn how to resolve conflict, and closes with a team commitment to forgiveness and reconciliation. This is a foundational training for your core team; an early commitment to love and respect one another along with an awareness of why conflict happens can save you a painful situation later.

Know that you are never alone in your ministry. We are here to consistently support you in both times of joy and times of struggle. You may not be able to always avoid conflict, but you don’t have to face it by yourself. We are praying for you as you address the topic of core conflict, and are here to support you in any way that we can.
