This second resource in our 8-part series covers Life Nights: Gather, Proclaim, Break and Send. Every Life Night has these four movements within them, just in a variety of creative ways to keep your teens engaged. In this resource, we will break down each movement of a Life Night: Gather, Proclaim, Break and Send. This section can be used to train your Core Team on the basics of a Life Night.
Following this explanation, we encourage you to engage in the Life Night ING ’s: BrainstormING , PlannING and ExecutING . The tools provided here in written form, on www.catholicyouthministry.com in PowerPoints and in YM Table Talk on Video Support #10 should provide plenty of training tools for your Core Team to take the Life Nights provided in Life Support and instill Core ownership at each night.
We are called to pass on the faith to young people; this is an enormous and important task. There is only one way to know if we are doing that well: evaluation. We encourage every Life Teen parish to take time and evaluate your current Life Nights and their effectiveness in leading teens closer to Christ. This is why you will find an extensive Life Night evaluation tool in this resource. We pray that current, active ministries can discover where they can improve and celebrate what they are doing well. New ministries can use this tool to understand the areas they should focus on as they begin planning their future Life Nights.
Even if you think your Life Nights are perfect, take some time with this resource. We all know how easy it is to become complacent in ministry. Don’t let your Life Nights get redundant. Challenge yourself to make Life Nights come alive and renew the energy surrounding them for your teens and Core. If you are new to Life Teen, you have everything you need here to make Life Nights powerful from the start. So have fun, get creative, and lead teens closer to Christ at your next Life Night.
