Goal for the Life Night:
The goal of this night is for the teens to understand God’s love for them and to be challenged to share that love with others.
Life Night at a Glance:
The night begins with a goofy icebreaker to draw the teens in and get them laughing. A video spoof of the MTV show entitled “Next” is shown. It is a bad reality show in which three people work to earn another date with the main character. The four people take turns getting to know the main person until the main person says “NEXT”, and then they rotate through the four people until the main person chooses one of the persons that they want to offer an extended date to. Your CORE TEAM will create a video spoof of this show and show it to introduce the topic of the night in a humorous way. A Core Member then delivers a teaching about God who by His very nature is love, how He loves us each unconditionally, and how we are called to share that love with others. The teens then break into small groups to discuss the topic in further detail. Finally, the night concludes with a powerful prayer experience that asks the teens to be open and honest about their relationship with Christ. Then, the Youth Minister shares a brief testimony, which leads into a slideshow of God’s love for us in His Passion.
