Goal for the Life Night:
To highlight John Paul II’s call to vocation, holiness, evangelization and his legacy of empowerment specifically to the YOUNG PEOPLE of our Church and our world.
Life Night at a Glance:
As the teens are gathering for the Night, they will have a chance to take pictures with the John Paul II cutout and to explore the John Paul II memorabilia scattered throughout the room. The evening opens with a trivia game with questions related to the papacy, in general, and John Paul II, specifically. Teens will get a real laugh when John Paul II serves as the host of this, his trivia show, after arriving in the Pope mobile (which may later be used for pictures with the teens). In the Proclaim, teens will be inspired by a video highlighting moments of the papacy of John Paul II. The video is followed by an inspirational teaching that challenges youth with statements from various JPII speeches. Teens will spend time in small groups breaking open some of the challenges and statements made by John Paul and the ways they are convinced or inspired to do something to impact our world. The Night ends with the recitation of the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary for the Pope’s intentions, preceded by an explanation of the Holy Father’s consecration to Mary and his gift of these mysteries to the Church in light of his devotion to her.
