The goal of this edge night is to introduce the youth to the year of faith and help them to deepen their faith in God.
Goal of this Edge Night
Pope Benedict XVI has declared a “Year of Faith” beginning on October 11, 2012 and ending on the Solemnity of Christ the King on November 24, 2013. During the upcoming year, he is urging all catholics to re-examine and dive deeper into their faith and share that faith with others. use these two edge nights to help the youth enter in more fully to this year. This particular night will help the youth to focus on their faith in god and to examine those things that distract them from seeing him.
The Edge Night will begin with the youth creating a company that sells sunglasses that help others to see god. allow for a time of sharing. the proclaim will break open that this is the Year of Faith and how they can deepen their faith during this year.
Take some time in small group for discussion and honestly examine those things that distract the youth from focusing more on god. Lastly, end the edge night with prayer and challenge the youth to share about the Year of Faith with their families.
