The middle school youth will come to a better understanding of what is means to be a Christian disciple and living that discipleship through the stewardship of time, talent, and treasure.
Stewardship is about doing the will of God. It is based on our relationship to God as we acknowledge the Father as Creator, the Son as Redeemer and the Spirit as Sanctifier. The notion of stewardship; which is found in sacred scripture, from Adam and Eve being entrusted with the Garden of Eden to its culmination in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus; welcomes the invitation to follow Christ and emulate his way of life. When we are attentive to the fact that God is the author of all life; all that is good and holy; the font of everything we are and have; and the source of our autonomy, skills and abilities; the fervent individual retorts by expressing gratitude to God through prayer, service to God and others, and the sharing of their financial resources with the church, the poor and the needy.
