The goal of this night is to bring to life the incredible dignity and value that is due every human being by virtue of our creation by God.
Life Night at a Glance:
Our teens are immersed in a culture war the likes of which the previous generations have never seen. At the core of the battle is the truth of who God is and, further, who we are as human beings. Our teens hear the scriptures that tell them they are made beautiful and in God’s image. Unfortunately, they spend far more time at school, on the Internet, and watching television than reading the creation narrative. Those voices and images echo the message to the teens that they are worthless and insignificant, unless they look and act a certain way. Teens perceive themselves as nothing more than what others perceive them as. They need greater “depth perception.” This night does not attempt to fix the problem as a whole but to give the teens concrete truths about human dignity and an experience of what life could be like if we lived by these truths.
