It is the 8th hour of a 12-hour bus ride and you are second-guessing your own sanity for planning this trip. It is “free time” during your fall retreat and God decided to reenact the great flood; the teens are stuck inside and have a bored, crazed look in their eyes. You have a group of middle school youth who can make anything into a competition and are currently betting on how long it will take you to make another corny joke.

As youth ministers, Core Members and catechists, we are constantly presented with opportunities to pass on the depth, beauty and truth of the faith. But all too often, these opportunities are disguised as unplanned detours, uninterested teens and unexpected conversations. It is easy to keep catechesis relegated to a Life Night, Edge Night or religious education classroom. We get into our catechetical “routine” and miss the opportunities all around us. Our God is constantly trying to communicate His love and truth to us – in nature, culture and strangers as in Sacrament, Scripture and prayer. We need to constantly seek out new and creative means to share the unchanging reality of God to our young people.

Our newest resource is aimed at doing just that. Introducing Life Teen’s Catholic Trivia DVD.

The Catholic Trivia DVD offers you ten trivia-based games of forty questions each. Each game tests your knowledge on Scripture, Church history, lives of the saints, popular culture and more! Four hundred questions are offered across four different skill levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and the incredibly challenging “doctor of the Church” level. After each question, four possible answers are given and the wrong answers dissolve away one-by-one leaving the correct answer. After each answer, a follow-up fact is given.

Use this fun, interactive and catechetical resource during the next bus trip, while teens gather at a Life Night, during free time on a retreat, as a competition within an Edge Night, or to engage the teens during a Confirmation class.
