I can’t even believe it, but summer is here. Next week is our first week of summer camp at Covecrest! The annual Life Teen Training Convention is just a couple of weeks away and Life Teen at Notre Dame is one month away. Wow! You can bet we are all busy managing our to-do list, our schedules and getting really excited to spend time with everyone we will see at all the Life Teen events this summer.
Here’s a look at some exciting stuff happening this summer at our events:
Summer Camp at Covecrest, Tepeyac, Rockyvine and New England
Are you ready for a Heroic Virtue experience? We’ve been preparing all year for your arrival at camp this summer and we can’t wait. I’ve seen the cool t-shirts, journals, banners… camp is going to be awesome – an awesome and powerful experience of God.
Life Teen Training Convention
I’m biased. I love this event. I used to go as often as I could when I was a Core Member and then a Youth Minister. And truly, I always think that nothing can top the year before and then God surprises me with a new and amazing experience. Matt Maher will again be with us this year, along with Tom Booth and Audrey Assad. Great speakers are lined up – Mike Patin, Fr. Robert Schreiner and Phil Baniewicz -and the Life Teen staff will be there. We are so excited to see you and pray with you! If you haven’t yet registered, you still can and there are still rooms available at the additional hotel (shuttles provided).
Life Teen Steubenville West and Life Teen Steubenville Atlanta
Are you bringing your teens? We hope so! These weekend youth rallies are always powerful. Take time to prepare you, your volunteers and your teens for their time together at these events. “Above All” is this year’s theme. What will that mean for you and your teens?
Life Teen at Notre Dame
The Holy Spirit has really been our guide this year as we are planning for our annual Teen Leadership Conference, which takes place on the campus of Notre Dame. In many ways, we are all being called to take this conference to an new and inspiring level this summer – all I can say is that I can’t wait to see what the Holy Spirit has planned – it will be simply amazing.
As summer is not only busy for us, it’s incredibly busy for all of you who serve our young church. As you manage the multitudes of permission slips and packing lists, the plans for things to go smoothly at the parish while you are away, while you spend more time in a sleeping bag than in your own bed, know that we are praying for you, your volunteers and your teens. May hearts be opened, may they be renewed in the Spirit and may all your travels and experiences be safe.
