Salvation Through the Church
Life Night Outline
Goal of this Night
The goal of this Life Night is to help the teens understand why membership in the Catholic Church is essential for salvation. The Life Night will also explain the relationship of other Christian and non-Christian religions to the Catholic Church.
About this night
This Life Night seeks to help teens understand what it means that the Church has the “fullness of the means of salvation.” The Life Night begins with a competition running an obstacle course. After, the teaching will break open the topic of salvation and membership in the Church. The teaching will also address the relationship of other Christian and non-Christian religions to the Church. The Break will give the teens an opportunity to discuss in small groups, and the Send will give the teens a chance to pray for an outpouring of God’s mercy on all people.
Life Night this week will look to answer the questions “why is membership in the Catholic Church essential for salvation?” This Life Night will most likely create questions for your teens so be sure to study this topic to help them answer their questions. If you feel like you cannot answer their questions, make an appointment with the youth minster and/or pastor to help answer your questions.
Here are a few discussion questions for the week:
- Why did Christ establish the Church?
- How can people who are not members of the Catholic Church know the truth Christ entrusted to his one true Church?
- How can we pray for those who are outside the Church?
The environment for this Life Night will be the obstacle course used in the Gather. See the Gather section for a description of the different obstacles to set up.
