Mass Confusion!

I once attended a Mass where the music group sat in a circle of chairs during rehearsal and without any instruments talked about each song one be one. The arrangements were made, verses split up and it was all done with everyone’s input. Although that may sound nice and caring, it took three times as long as if they just would have rehearsed and the director would have led the rehearsal. When they actually got around to practicing they were only able to get though three songs in the time that was left and the music sounded very disjointed and unrehearsed.

So what is the answer…Lead with love. Of course each person giving of their time and talent matter and should not be treated rudely or disrespected, but the whole group needs to understand who is in charge and respect that person enough to be able to accept decisions that are made and go about their ministry joyously and humbly. So, lead with love and authority of the role that your Pastor has placed you in taking joy in the Holy Spirit as your guide and teacher.
