Goal for the Life Night:
The goal is to bring teens to a moment of encounter with the incredible love of God the Father and to provide possible healing, hope, and direction with their earthly fathers or father figures.
Life Night at a Glance:
During the course of the night, teens will have an opportunity to explore their relationships with their fathers and how those relationships have affected their relationships with and impressions of God the Father. The night starts with the introduction of new teens and a game show, “Family Feud.” It continues with a talk given by a Core member or Youth Minister dressed as a famous doctor that reflects on paternal relationships. The teens will break open the night by analyzing their relationships with their fathers in small group questions. The night closes with a meditation and the teens writing an open letter to their father, both on earth and in heaven. It is important, due to the nature of this night that you try to have a professional counselor on hand so the teens can work out any serious issues if they come up.
