March 9th marks the feast day for a saint that I have recently been introduced to: St. Dominic Savio. Dominic was an extraordinary young man of faith who died at the early age of 15. However, even from very early in his life, Dominic was prayerful and grew in virtue. He went to school and was taught by (St.) John Bosco and at times exemplified a young man completely devoted to prayer and leading others to Christ. Dominic is the patron saint of altar servers and those who are falsely accused.
I love that on this feast day, we can be reminded of the importance of leading and instructing young people in the faith – that is where Edge comes in! A few years ago, the idea of doing middle school youth ministry was a rarity. Most of us thought that as long as we catch them in high school, we’ll be okay. That trend is changing.
Middle school youth ministry is becoming increasingly more important. Youth need formation during their most formative years – they need to know about God who loves them. If there is anything we can do to help you in your ministry with middle school youth, please let us know!
