New Roman Missal Websites For Youth Leaders

Helpful online resources at your fingertips.

As I’m sure you have heard already, come this Advent there will be some major changes to the liturgy coming on November 27th 2011. This time of preparation can be a fruitful time for our parishes and our young people.  We at Life Teen want to do our best to equip you with the resources you will need to help your Core Teams, parents, musicians, and teens to understand what these changes are, as well as why they are happening. Here are some websites that we believe will be helpful to you:

  • CatholicYouthMinistry.com/roman-missal is Life Teen’s  “site within a site” that will be updated several times a month featuring new blogs and other resources that will help you get comfortable with the adaptations that will take place when we receive the Third Edition of the Roman Missal. Please take the time to read through the blogs and watch the videos. In addition, there are downloads for you to share with your team.  For example, there is a 12-month planning calendar for youth ministers to plan their implementation is also available on the site as well. This resource will give you concrete ideas of how to begin implementing the new changes in our parish and a step-by-step guide and timeline. (CatholicYouthMinistry.com/roman-missal)

For Music Ministers

Many musicians have already begun searching for new Mass settings to use in November. Several publishers have made both new and revised Mass settings available on their websites. Here are a few websites that you may find helpful to preview these settings:

We will do our best to keep you posted as time goes on and new resources are made available. This is an unprecedented opportunity for us as a Church to more fully embrace the liturgy and the Eucharist as the Source and Summit of our faith from which all blessings flow. Let’s all do our best to educate ourselves so that we can do the best job possible in helping our communities and our youth embrace the New Missal.
