Goal for the Life Night:
The goal of this Night is to show teens in a tangible way what the Resurrection means for us today: what Jesus accomplished in the Resurrection and the power of the Resurrection still available to us in our daily lives.
Life Night at a Glance:
This LIFE Night is a spoof of the popular TLC show entitled “Trading Spaces” where people swap rooms and redecorate each other’s rooms overnight. The relationship to the Resurrection is that through the Resurrection our whole life was redecorated overnight. To make this Night really fun and interactive you will need some planning ahead of time. Your youth group will have to come up with a real life video of showing a redecoration of a room. You can do this with another parish and redecorate each other’s youth room (if your parish will allow it) or you can have two CORE members swap rooms of their own house, etc. Anyway that you put the video together have fun and get the teenagers involved. The key is the before and after pictures as that will give you a good starting point to bring in the teaching on the Resurrection. After the teaching, the teenagers will break into small groups where they will exchange small 2×4 pieces of wood that will be redecorated by the small group with affirmations. Finally, the teens will be challenged to bring Christ alive in their families and peer groups.
