Goal of this Life Night
The goal of this night is to dispel any misconceptions teenagers may have about the end of the world, and help them understand what the Church teaches about Christ’s Second Coming and the world’s final judgment.
About this Life Night
For centuries, various individuals have tried to predict when the world would end. Numerous theories have emerged, and all of them have been wrong. The most popular theory to date is that the world will end on December 21st, 2012. This Life Night addresses the Catholic teaching on the end of the world, and will dispel the many misconceptions that teens may have about the end times. The night begins with a game that challenges four teen participants to guess the name of a book or movie based on a description of its ending. The teaching for the night gives teenagers an understanding of what exactly the Church teaches about the “end of the world,” and why this isn’t something to fear but something to prepare for and hope for. The Break allows teenagers time to process the teaching and ask themselves if they are truly prepared to receive Christ at His Second Coming, or if they need to work on growing in their relationship with Him. The night closes in a time of Eucharistic Adoration.
