Update: Men can apply, but our application process is closed for women. Applications taken on a first come, first serve basis.
Your Mission:
Before anything else, you are answering Christ’s call to build up His Kingdom on earth. Throughout the summer, you will lead middle and high school teens closer to Christ through service, relationship, and prayer. You will build and develop practical, life-long ministry skills by gaining experience in project coordination, effective time management, and collaborative team building.
As a missionary, you are also responding to Christ’s invitation to deepen your personal relationship with Him. You will be part of a mission community that together lives a structured and sacramental prayer life, supports one another in common mission, and holds each other accountable. You will experience ongoing spiritual formation and form relationships that will last a lifetime.
You must be one full year out of high school to apply.
Want to hear what past summer missionaries say about their experience. Check out why they gave up a summer to serve teens.
Every part of the mission is vital; however, each role has some specific responsibilities, detailed below.
Position: Summer Staff
A six-week mission serving camp primarily as a relational minister trained in the facilitation of small group discussions and teambuilding activities. Create and execute games, skits, and witness talks to communicate topics of faith. Responsibilities may also include liturgy planning and preparation and coordination of outreach and service.
Position: Service Crew
A thirteen-week mission serving camp in one of the following areas: Kitchen, Office, Outpost, Art Barn, Maintenance, Photography, Videographer
Photographer Intern
Serve camp primarily by capturing, editing, and compiling photos taken throughout each week. Responsibilities include: live event photo acquisition, photo editing, and DVD authoring and duplication.
Videographer Intern
Serve camp primarily by creating a weekly quality video scrapbook. Responsibilities include: live event video acquisition, photography, video editing, web uploads, and DVD authoring and duplication.
Kitchen Crew
Serve camp primarily as the backbone of hospitality; assist in preparation, serving, and cleaning duties for all meals. Set up and tear down various elements for camp activities. Responsibilities include: ropes course facilitation, minor facility maintenance, and intercession and prayer support.
Office Intern
Serve camp primarily by assisting Office Manager with administrative operations and guest relations. Responsibilities include: organization and compilation of various data, greeting and welcoming guests (on the phone and in person), and coordinating various camp experiences.
Outpost Coordinator
Serve camp primarily by running and maintaining Outpost gift shop and Coffee Cart. Responsibilities also include: restocking merchandise, managing and tracking inventory, and maintaining cleanliness of Outpost facilities.
Art Barn Coordinator
Serve camp primarily by running and maintaining the Art Barn. Responsibilities include: restocking merchandise, managing and tracking inventory, maintaining cleanliness of Barn facilities, and assisting teens with craft projects.
Maintenance Crew
Serve camp primarily by assisting the Director of Operations in maintaining camp facilities. Responsibilities may include: set up and tear down of various elements for camp activities, minor repairs, ropes facilitation, and trash removal.
Mission Partners
A vital part of your mission this summer will be inviting people to join you as mission partners; they will support you spiritually and financially through prayers and donations. As a missionary, your first job will be to ask people to commit to praying for you; they can offer a daily Mass, rosary, chaplet, holy hour, or any other type of prayer. No mission is successful without prayer support; not only will camp be covered with intercession, but you will also be including individuals and families in the mission.
You will also need to gather financial support for this mission. Life Teen will help you by providing letter templates and
donation cards that you can send to your extended family, friends, parishes, etc. in order to invite others to give a large or small donation. The majority of your mission partners should be outside of your immediate family—we want to include as many people as we can in this mission! Life Teen will match the amount you raise and you will receive a stipend at the end of your mission commitment, up to a total of $200 per week. Since this is truly a mission, God is calling you to bring your servant heart with complete trust in His divine providence.
Application Process

Feel free to be creative and have fun! Your autobiography needs to be 3-5 minutes, no longer. Your DVD needs to be able to be viewed on a Mac computer. Label the outside of your video with your full name and make 2 copies.
Step 4: (videographer only) Create a separate DVD of some of your previous video work. Make 2 copies of the DVD and label the outside with your full name.

After the phone interview, we will contact you to let you know your status for the summer. We will have our summer teams chosen by March 14, 2012. Upon acceptance you will be responsible for all travel arrangements to and from the nearest airport location of the camp (Atlanta or Phoenix) that you will serve. Your commitment will be from the first date listed on your session to the last date. You will remain with the camp team for the entire session. As a team, we will be going on excursions, so any spending money will be at your discretion. Life Teen will provide meals, housing, linens, and transportation for the duration of the session. Are the letters of recommendation up? Because if they are, I do not see them.
Hi Kevin, not sure what you mean. You’re supposed to supply letters of recommendation from people that you know and add them to your application.

[...] Each summer for the past 10 years Life Teen has helped teens have the best week of their life. However, the experience of summer camp would never happen without the joyful service of hundreds of college-aged faithful Catholics. This summer, we’re asking you to consider being a summer camp staff missionary. [...]
