Goal for the Life Night:
The goal for this night is to help the teens understand that living a life in Christ is a heroic calling. This night will point out to the teens all the tools God gives them to sustain a moral life, live heroically for Christ and to find their ultimate happiness with God in heaven.
Life Night at a Glance:
This night brings the semester on Catholic morality to a close. Hopefully the teens have come to see the Catholic moral teachings as a guide to true happiness. But undoubtedly, many of the teens still feel that living according to these teachings is nearly impossible. The moral life can sometimes seem like it is only for the “super holy” and not for ordinary people. This Life Night gives the teens not only the tools to help them live a moral life but will help them understand that God can take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. The Life Night begins with a competition to create a superhero from ordinary items in a box. The superhero will have a name and a superpower. The teaching for the night focuses on tools the teens can use to help them on their journey toward living a moral life. The teaching is broken up into four different rotating sections—The Holy Spirit, prayer and virtue, Sacraments, the Mass. The night closes with a time of silent prayer and adoration.
