The Young Church Needs More Sin… (So to Speak)

Teens – and adults – are being swallowed up and spit out by a secular humanist, morally relativist culture. People have forgotten a fundamental truth about sin: namely, that God did not give Adam and Eve the right to decide what was good and evil (subjective); in His mercy, He gave them the right to choose between good and evil (objective).

Life Night

Blindside | Teaching Office in the Church: the Magisterium

The goal of this night is to help the teens understand that obedience to the magisterium can bring true freedom. Teens will be able to recognize that the magisterium is made up of the pope and bishops who interpret what has been revealed as Truth in sacred Scripture and sacred Tradition.

Truth of the Matter

Goal The goal of this Edge Night is to teach the middle school youth about the Magisterium of the Catholic nChurch as the office that safeguards the truth and is the teaches and instructs the faithful. Core Preparation We always recommend full preparation for any Edge Night. This night, however, will require you to be ready to answer questions about some of our beliefs as Catholic Christians. Read through the “Fact or Opinion” activity (Handout A on page 74) and be prepared to answer questions

The Bible: God’s Original Text Message

Many adults today tell me that the “average teenager” couldn’t care less about the Bible. Extensive firsthand experience, however, demands that I humbly reply, “LOL” (“laugh out loud” in text-happy vernacular). I led my first teen Bible study almost 20 years ago and, while teen culture has dramatically changed, their desires have not. Teens want truth, and the Catholic Church has it.
