Goal for the Life Night:
The goal for this night is to introduce the new semester on morality. This night will help the teens understand that morality is more than a list of rules and regulations. True morality is rooted in the Father and leads us to the fullness of joy here on earth and our ultimate fulfillment in heaven.
Life Night at a Glance:
This Life Night kicks off a new semester on morality. Too many of our teens (and adults) feel that moral law is about restrictions and limits, rather than experiencing true freedom. This Life Night is designed to help teens see how the moral law gives us the freedom to build the kingdom of God on earth, and ultimately is designed for our happiness. This night begins with the opportunity for teens to create their own “kingdoms” complete with mottos, laws and flags. After some “inter-kingdom” competition, the group will transition into the teaching by having some of the teens share about their kingdoms. After the teaching, the Break begins with a time for the teens to individually reflect on their lives and what they believe God desires for them. The teens will have a time to discuss what they believe God wants for their lives in
small groups. The Send will start with a witness of a father in the community and what he desires for his children’s lives and why he sets rules for them. The night ends in a time of prayer reflecting on the Our Father. The teens will have an opportunity to make a commitment to the semester and to allowing God to work in their lives toward joy and happiness.
