Goal for the Life Night
This night will give the teens a deeper insight into the life of Christ as given by the synoptic Gospels. This night will also give teens background on the authors of each Gospel and understanding as to the differences between their writings.
Life Night at a Glance
This night is a great way to encourage the teenagers to examine the first three Gospels. The night begins with a lighthearted skit with Matthew, Mark and Luke attending a baseball game together. The skit presents caricatures of these Gospel evangelists to depict how three different people can experience and talk about the same event in completely unique ways. This sets up the teaching that addresses each Gospel writer individually looking at the audience, voice and time period in which each Gospel was written. In small groups the teens will look at the description of the Resurrection from the three Gospels. The differences and similarities of each of these passages will be discussed as well how the audience and voice of the author is revealed in the readings. The Life Night will end with a time of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
