Goal for the Life Night:
The goal of this LIFE night is to lead the teens closer to Christ by providing a fun environment for the teens to share in fellowship and evangelize their friends, leading them closer to Christ.
Life Night at a Glance:
This LIFE night is totally tubular! Even though many of your teens are too young to remember the actual ‘80’s, they have been influenced by the decade through the re-runs of popular ‘80s sitcoms, cable re-runs and movie rentals of ‘80s films and videos and re-inventions of ‘80’s artists and groups. This will be no bogus cheesy dance; this will be “fresh” for sure, dudes and dudettes, so go get ready to party hearty. Make sure that you advertise this radical dance “to the max” so the teens get “totally stoked” and bring more gnarly friends. And remember this is a costume party. Make sure your entire CORE is dressed in 80’s attire along with you the Youth Minister and, even your Priest, if possible. Roll up and “peg” the jeans, pull out the denim mini skirts, throw up the collars and find the knit neck ties. Multiple watches, earrings and belts – just one didn’t do it in the 1980’s. And when it comes to the hair – the “poofier” the better. Video clips and music should reflect the greatest decade ever (the 1980’s, in case you were wondering) and a trivia quiz will see which teens are the most “retro”. Charge a couple bucks for admittance if the teen isn’t wearing a costume and don’t charge anything if they are. Also, make sure you have a DJ to spin ‘80’s music at the dance.
