Goal
The goal of this Life Night is to break open the Church’s stance on drugs and alcohol and how it relates to the teen’s lives. This Life Night will also help the teens understand how using drugs and alcohol is not only a sin but also hinders their true freedom found in Christ. finally, this Life Night will challenge the teens to pray for those in their lives who struggle with drugs and alcohol and be a witness of god’s love to them.
About this Night
Drugs and alcohol continue to be a major issue with teens. This updated Life Night is meant to help start the discussion with teens. It is up to the youth minister, pastor, and Core Members to continue the discussion and follow up with teens and their families. The Life Night begins with a “Cross the Line” activity designed to show the group that drugs and alcohol affect everyone. The teaching for the night looks at what the Church teaches about drugs and alcohol, especially how they destroy our human dignity. After the teaching the teens will break up into small groups for discussion. The night will end by challenging the teens to place their needs in god’s hands and praying the serenity prayer as a group.
