What is black and blue and blessed all over? Our new Edge Support Box.  After a year of redesigns, planning and writing, we are happy to bring you the New Edge Support.  This is the first box in our six-semester curriculum.  We pray that the contents of this box will help make the daunting task of middle school ministry just a little easier.  Here is what you will find in the March 2010 box:

1. Edge Semester Planning Guide: Scripture Semester. Included in the box is a brand new Edge Semester Planning Guide with twelve Edge Nights.  This first semester’s topic is Scripture.  This is the beginning of a six-semester systematic catechetical approach for your middle school ministry.  There are 10 catechetical nights that break open Scripture for your youth with the same relevant and hands-on approach you’ve come to expect.  In addition to these nights, there are two issue Edge Nights.  We’re excited about these Edge nights because many talented individuals working in middle school ministry came together to brainstorm new and exciting ways to break open this topic for your middle school youth. 2. Eighth Grade Retreat. You will also find a new one-day retreat for your 8^th grade youth: “Help! I’m Stuck in a Locker!”  This retreat helps to bridge the gap between your Edge ministry and your Life Teen ministry.  The 8^th graders will discuss topics about transitioning into high school, while becoming familiar with your Life Teen Core Team and high school leaders.  This retreat outline can be adapted to meet the needs of your young people. 3. Finding Yourself in Scripture. Mark Hart has a new book called “Finding Yourself in Scripture.”  With the semester focus being Scripture, we wanted to provide a book that could help the youth minister, Core Team, adult volunteers, high school leaders, and middle school youth better understand how we can relate to the people we read about in Scripture.  Use the book as a Bible Study, book club, or to supplement your small groups during Edge nights.
4. WOW 2010 Music CD. The music CD is jam-packed with the best in Christian music.  Wow 2010 comes with two discs with 30 songs to be used in Edge nights, retreats and other gatherings.
5. Edge Video Support 1. One of the most exciting additions to this box is the DVD, Edge Support Video 1.  We have given you some tools to use with your Core Team, your ministry and with your Edge nights.  Enjoy it!
